At Paul Bram a diamond ring begins as a mixture of gold granules & alloys or platinum granules, melted in a crucible by one of our skilled craftsmen. |

The 18 ct gold alloy or platinum is then carefully rolled by hand into a small bar. Gold alloy is less porous & harder than pure gold & is therefore more durable & longer lasting, Platinum is even more durable than gold alloy & is the ultimate choice for premium quality diamond rings. |

The gold or platinum bar is then cut, hammered, curved & fashioned into the basic shape of the band of the ring. |

The coronet or setting is also hand crafted from gold alloy or platinum & is then drilled to provide a seat for the diamond. |

A craftsman then cuts out the claws by hand to ensure a perfect fit for the diamond so that it is completely secure. Once the diamond is set in place, the claws are trimmed & polished. |
