Abbotsford Convent and Children’s Farm

Nestled in a sweeping bend of The Yarra River and only 4kms from the city, the Abbotsford Convent & Children’s farm is the perfect wedding location for the couple who want the convenience of being near the city while being surrounded by nature with a farmyard feel – you can even visit the paddock of pigs if you so desire – a truly unique photo opportunity!

The venue has three superb locations to choose from-

The Good Shepherd Chapel – The 1986 bluestone Chapel located in the grounds of the convent. It features stunning wooden domed ceilings and stained-glass windows. A beautiful backdrop for a traditional ceremony.

The Oak Tree – The 100 year old Oak tree creates the perfect canopy to say your “I Do’s.” This ceremony site is conveniently located along the Yarra River within the Collingwood Children’s Farm and Abbotsford Convent precinct – a truly magical setting.

The Heritage Gardens – Tie the knot in the picturesque Rose Garden with the historic convent as your imposing backdrop. A beautiful location entwining nature and history effortlessly.


Farm Vigano

As you drive through the suburban streets of South Morang toward Farm Vigano, you could be forgiven for thinking you’re headed to someone’s backyard for your wedding venue! However, that is part of the charm and appeal of this place – as you turn the corner and drive down the dirt road, you will suddenly be transported to Tuscany, Italy and be blown away by the stunning view of the vineyard and rolling hills – truly a hidden gem!

The property, with house, farm buildings, and designed landscape, provides the last tangible physical association with Mario and Maria Teresa Viganò, and demonstrates their remarkable contribution to cuisine, hospitality, culture and the arts. Mario Viganò is the patriarch of Melbourne’s, and probably Australia’s, most prominent restaurant family. The Italian food served here is exceptional and is as traditional as you can get!

You have the freedom to choose to have your wedding wherever you desire within the property. Perhaps a ceremony on the lush green lawn in front of the restaurant, with cocktail hour on the balcony and the reception inside the restaurant looking out over the expansive view, it’s up to you!


Melbourne Zoo

Nothing says romance like being married among the butterflies at the Melbourne zoo! Your guests can enjoy a celebratory champagne while admiring the graceful beauty of the giraffes or sip cocktails by the tiger enclosure.

Mimosa Glen Homestead

Situated Just an hour and half from Melbourne city, nestled in the ancient granite boulders of Tooborac sits the picturesque Mimosa Glen. You have the whole property to yourself and can choose to utilise one or all three of the spaces provided – these include:

The Woolshed – Recently renovated, the woolshed features a large open plan with glass sliding doors which open onto a spacious deck area. The ancient Tooboorac granite boulders and tranquil McIvor Creek can be see through the large timber framed windows.

The Wedding Rock – exchanging vows atop a majestic rock boulder is a popular choice for many couples. The Wedding Rock offers breathtaking views of the Mimosa Glen landscape and towering Tooboorac mountain ranges.

Country Gardens – Property owner, Sue Anderson prides herself on and is incredibly passionate about maintaining the Mimosa Glen gardens. She has skilfully planted the grounds to include both annuals and perennials which offer inspiring seasonal colours all year round.

Plaza Ballroom

A ‘dream come true’ wedding venue located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD is the Plaza ballroom located within the majestic Regent Theatre.

The ballroom dates back to 1929 and boasts elaborate Spanish Rococo architecture, a grand staircase entry and magnificent chandeliers.

The Pumping Station
